I am 50 years old and have been using and fixing computers since... well since the xt was out and before that the Comadore 64. It's been awhile! I really don' t have the time to figure out all these new fangled gadgets. Took me months to figure out how to fast forward my ipod, have only played 3 DVD's in the past 3 years. The only reason I even own a DVD player is because my son made a short film and sent me the DVD. I have had a cell phone for years. I make calls, receive calls and get messages, things I already knew how to do on a landline. Cell phones can do so much more.
Tonight I decided it was time to learn how to download a ringtone. How do you get the ringtone from the computer to the phone I wonder. I don't have the optional cable, my phone has bluetooth but my computer doesn't. I am searching all over and I can't seem to find any instructions on how to get a ringtone. DUH! I guess that is because it is so easy you don't need instructions.
You just go to a ringtone or cell phone providers web site, enter your cell phone number, service provider, phone type and choose the ringtone you want. You will then receive a text message on your phone, push a few buttons and the ringtone flies through the air right into the phone. Geeez, I feel like such an idiot.
I now have a Bob Dylan ringtone on my phone. Since most people hate Dylan I think it will now be easy to tell when it is my phone ringing. Of course there is danger I won't answer because I would rather hear the song. You can be sure I won't pick up on the first ring.
There are of course 100 other ways to do it, you can even make your own ringtones with itunes. While looking for all this ringtone information I found out about something called moblogging. This is where you send the images from your phone straight to a weblog. There are many free sites where you can do this and most also offer upgraded services for a fee.
Moblog is a combination of the word mobile and weblog. Moblogs contain information posted from mobile phones and pda's. Don't hoard your photos, share them with the world and start moblogging now.
